"In art, the hand can never execute anything higher than the heart can imagine."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
"I have always drawn and painted. As a child, I would watch my Dad paint, and to me, the smell of paint, turpentine, and linseed oil are as comforting as the smell of home cooking. In recent years, I have found the pure color and amazing versatility of pastels have made it my favorite medium.
When I paint, I try to express what I see and how I feel about the beauty of the natural landscape that surrounds us. The patterns, shadows, light, sounds, especially here in New Mexico, are what drive me to the easel every day. My goal as an artist is to establish a connection between my expression of what is before me, and you, the viewer."
